In general both acrylic and laminate can be used for kitchen cabinets.That is mainly because both of these finishes are heat and water resistant,making them suitable for hot and humid environments.Being water-resistant,it is also easy to remove spills and food marks.As long as you address the overriding concern of moisture,you can install laminate flooring in the kitchen.If you want to eliminate worries about moisture,install sheet vinyl or luxury vinyl plank(LVP).In terms of appearance,LVP is a close contender with laminate and it is 100-percent waterproof.High pressure laminates are bonded to the substrate at very high pressure and temperature.They are much more durable than low pressure laminates.This is especially important in the kitchen as all surface must be able to withstand moisture and heat,These laminates are typically 0.7 to 1.22 mm in thickness.Having said that even when using a high pressure laminate,prolonged exposure to water and dampness is not advised.
